Somewhere to say it.
Bespoke coaching and therapy for senior leaders who carry decisions they cannot take home.
Who we work with
Chief executives who report to a chair
Chief executives who are also the chair and founders
Executives who lead other leaders
Leaders preparing for their next move, or for what comes after an executive career
What you may be carrying
Carrying a great deal is part of the role. It becomes a problem when it starts to change what you do.
- Decisions you used to make without thinking, now stuck, or held back in case it is the wrong one
- Evenings where you can't switch off, going over the same things until you are exhausted by it
- Conversations that need to happen, postponed because they feel like another weight
- Self-doubt that used to pass, now changing what you do: avoiding, over-preparing or staying quiet
- Home and work so tangled that neither gets all of you
- Being pulled into the weeds when you want to lead from above them
What we work towards, at work and at home
- Decisions that were waiting get made
- You can put the day down
- Hard conversations happen instead of being postponed
- You trust your own judgement inside and outside the room
- You are present at home, not just there
- You lead from the level your role needs, as the leader you truly want to be
The obstacles of leadership are still there. The approach and reaction to them are different. At the joint intake we agree how you will measure progress.
Start with a conversation.
You explain your situation once. From there, one plan.
1
First conversation
Thirty minutes with either of us, to check we are right for each other. Either side can say no. Because the work is built around your situation, we give the fee in this conversation, before anything is booked.
2
Joint intake
Paid. Both of us, 90 minutes to two hours. It ends in a written plan, bespoke to you: the outcome, who works with you, when and how often. We decide together what is coaching and what is clinical.
3
The work
Coaching, therapy or both, over six months. Reviews at three and six months. The main contact can change at a review without a new intake or a fresh referral.
4
One plan
With your written consent each of us sees what the other sees, so nothing falls between the two. There is no referral to wait for. If only one of us is needed, you continue with that person alone.
Why us
One plan.
You explain your situation once. No second search, no starting again, no waiting for a referral. Too often a coach refers a leader on to a therapist they have never spoken to, and the two never compare notes.
Experience from inside.
Both of us have carried responsibility for people and results under sustained pressure. Neither of us needs the leader's world explained.
Delivered directly.
No associate network. The leader owns every decision, and a sponsoring business receives engagement status only.
Individual work for senior leaders, beside organisational wellbeing and not replacing it.
Who you work with
Carolyn, executive coaching.
For senior leaders, executives and founders preparing for or moving through a significant transition. The work is to get clear on what you are building toward, make the decision to begin, and put the conditions in place, in you and around you, to act on it. She uses The Possibility ProtocolĀ®. Typically a 90-minute session every other week, with support by message in between.
Rachel, CBT therapy.
For leaders who are very good at what they do and paying a personal price for it. The work is on what sits underneath performance: burnout, confidence and the patterns that get in the way of good leadership. She uses The Success Cage Methodā„¢. Typically weekly 60-minute sessions, with support in between.
If your business funds a named leader
Terms are agreed in writing before anything starts. We set two or three measures with you, such as decisions taken or readiness for a larger role, and report against them. What is discussed stays with the leader; the business receives engagement status only. Rachel's part is offered to the leader, at their choice, and is never required by the business. We work for you directly, not through an associate network.
Coaching and therapy for senior leaders
McCormick Counselling offers joint coaching and therapy for senior leaders, delivered by Rachel McCormick, a BACP Accredited CBT Practitioner, and Carolyn Rawle, an ICF-trained executive coach. It is designed for chief executives, founders and executives who lead other leaders, and covers burnout, confidence, decision-making and career transition. Clients have one joint intake and one written plan, then coaching, therapy or both over six months, online across the UK and Europe. The first step is a free 30-minute first conversation.
Who is this for?
Chief executives, founders, executives who lead other leaders and leaders preparing for their next move or for life after an executive career.
What is the difference between the coaching and the therapy?
Coaching with Carolyn Rawle focuses on decisions, transition and the plan to act on them. CBT therapy with Rachel McCormick works on what sits underneath performance: burnout, confidence and the patterns that get in the way of good leadership.
How does it start?
With a free 30-minute first conversation to check it's the right fit. Fees are given in that conversation, before anything is booked.
Can my employer pay for it?
Yes. Terms are agreed in writing first. The business receives engagement status only, and what's discussed stays with the leader.

This work is not a substitute for urgent clinical care. Where someone is acutely unwell, we say so and help them find the right support.
